Cleveland Park Yoga opened in October of 2006. The founders shared a vision of a space that would allow them to reach out to new students while embracing their individual creativities. Classes started in the Cleveland Park Club and moved in February 2008 to The Center in Tenleytown providing an opportunity to share yoga with a broader community.
All Cleveland Park Yoga classes are held at The Center in Tenleytown. It is a truly unique place in DC which supports yoga teachers, personal trainers, massage therapists and other types of teachers and healers by providing them a beautifully warm and fully functional space to offer their services. Purvi Doriswamy Purvi has been practicing yoga on and off for the past six years, and became a dedicated student of the practice in 2002 after spending a week on an island in Brazil where she spent her time practicing yoga and hiking through the rain forest. Life has never been the same since. After studying many different styles of yoga, Purvi was drawn to Vinyasa for its dynamic, creative flow. She made the decision to begin teaching yoga so that she could share a practice that enriched her life with others.

Purvi is not currently teaching at CPY so that she can pursue an advanced degree in Business.
